 We could also make this a html5 child theme fairly easy to do if using
 only a very few files maybe?

 Totally agree in turning off as much as possible on this one.  Members
 perhaps to see everyone but do you see everyone on Twitter.. well no so
 maybe right to turn off?

 Landing page would be your activity maybe a setting to be all site
 activity if not logged in or you can se this under profile?

 I do like idea of keeping the favourite stuff though, what do you think?
