[buddypress-dev] Updates

While we're on the topic of "progress so far" would it be possible for
someone to give a quick rundown of where things are at, very broadly
speaking?  I check the trac and timeline and roadmap and all that pretty
regularly, but as someone who's a blogger first, a designer second and a
devloper third, I don't really have a sense for how far along things are in
plain language. I set up an install a few weeks ago and some features
weren't working.  I posted a bug but it looks like it was removed/deleted.
Perhaps I did it wrong.
