Andy,
Never mind on the explanation on what happens when a friend is requested. I see what is going on.
Time seems not correct on request.

The link is incorrect on my friends list.
The name is good, the href is incorrect.

Mine should be 
http://mysite.com/chris

is 
http://mysite.comchris


The friend finder is searching ?

I have now tagged the friends component at version 0.1. You can head  
over to trac and get the download links here:

Along with this, I have also tagged:

- Extended Profiles: 0.3.3
- Core: 0.2.1
- Default theme: 0.2.1

Each of the above include support for the friends component, so make  
sure you have all the latest tagged components on your installation.
